Release 3, and cleanup variants with Krita

On the last devlog, i talked about experiments done with Krita, while i was trying to find the best workflow for making the new wave of assets. Since then, i have found another workflow, which is completely different from the ones i was discussing there but is very comfortable and fast. I have to say Krita is incredibly impressive, and i don't ever plan on going back to a certain software that likes to eat up gigabytes of space in exchange for less than what is offered here. Free and open-source software is the future (and the present, it seems).

----

The image you see on this post shows two different cleanup modes for an image. On the initial release of this pack, the 70 included objects only had the plain lineart version included, as my old workflow and software didn't easily allow me to produce the version with a low-opacity grayscale fill. I think this version, which you can see on the right, works better for people who want to use these assets as a building block for painting on. Going forward, I'll make all new assets have both versions, however, as i imagine some people still want the lineart versions, and the pack began as including them, and i don't want to change its contents after some people already opted into having them.

For now, only a few assets have the second version included, so these are marked with an asterisk in the asset pack's page and with a "_f" on its folder. As soon as more of them start having both versions (and i plan on going back and remaking all old assets to match the new quality standards for drawing and cleanup), I'll split the main folder into two and remove the "_f" ending from the fill versions, since i imagine people won't use both versions in a single project so there's no need to tell them apart by name once they are separated by folder. If you know a use case where someone needs both versions for a single project, however, feel free to let me know.

----

This release includes new images, drawn to a much higher standard of quality than before. The new images are: Pear, Pill bottle, Abstract 2, Corn. I am also remaking the images that were originally redrawn in smaller size, so that they can match the new quality standards. This release includes a new image for the Fang 2 and Package images. As always, the old versions have been moved to the extras folder so you can compare them, or if you still have a use for them. Finally, this new release includes an example Krita file showing you how to non-destructively clean up an image from the raw scan stage, by using the Erase blending mode and layer groups.

Take care. Together with the next update, i will be releasing a free demo, and some of these assets will be released under a permissive license. More on that soon.
